October is here and that means Playoff Baseball is in full swing. Another year and Another Yankee’s Playoff berth. This year their opponent was the Detroit Tigers. Derick Jeter and CC Sabathia played at their best, but they fell to the Tigers. We have come to expect excellence out of the Yankees, but they fell short this year. New Jersey and New York Logistics would like to congratulate the Yankees for a successful season.

Millions Spent on Buyout
Because of the two companies close niches it was no wonder why the transaction took place. The buyout is expected to add an additional 220 jobs to Timken Co and boost earnings within the first year! The transaction is scheduled to be completed by the end of September. Big money is being spent in the Philadelphia area, but being a Philadelphia moving company , we already knew the great business opportunities that lie in Philly.

New fertilizer laws in effect for New Jersey homeowners
Every year, new laws are introduced which New Jersey homeowners should take notice of, or end up paying the consequences. 2011 is no different, and this time around, the way you take care of your lawn could get you in trouble. Homeowners in New Jersey should be aware of the new fertilizer laws that are in effect for this spring season. Some of the new rules to go into effect this year include:
- Season for homeowners to fertilize their own lawn is March 1 to November 15.
- Lawn care professionals have a season of March 1 to December 1.
- Fertilizer cannot be applied within 10 feet of a water body or left scattered on pavement.
- Lawn fertilizers must contain at least 20 percent of their nutrients as slow-release nitrogen.
- Phosphorous will only be allowed in cases where a soil test reveals a specific deficiency in that nutrient.
- Fines for violations can be up to $500 for a first offense or $1,000 for a second offense. For egregious violators, the state Department of Environmental Protection can seek an additional civil penalty of $1,000.

Move from Philadelphia Scheduled for GlaxoSmithKline
Who thought moving from Philadelphia could be such a savvy business move? Pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline is moving its Philadelphia operations to a new facility in South Philadelphia. The company just signed a nearly 16-year lease for the new site and plans on saving $26 million annually by making the move to an old U.S. Navy shipyard. This major relocation will be to a new facility that boasts 205,000 square feet and will also relocate around 1,300 jobs to the new site.
The company looks forward to the move to the new facility, saying the open-space layout will help employees to collaborate better. That and the boost to their bottom line make this relocation seem like the best option for GlaxoSmithKline.

Philadelphians Try to Save the Tastykakes; Company’s Move Bolsters Troubles
From the Facebook group trying to “Save the Tastykakes” to Causes.com’s “Save Tastykake” page, many Philadelphians are in an uproar over the Philadelphia snack cake icon struggling to survive into today’s times…and economy.
Tastykake is a household name in the Northeast, though if you travel a few states over, most will have no idea what you’re talking about. For those who do know, Tastykake produces the delicious little delights including Krimpets, Juniors and Kandy Kakes and 200+ more confections. However, the 97-year-old company has been struggling of late, every since moving within Philadelphia – specifically from Hunting Park to the Navy Yard. With the move came increased operations costs amid a serious economic downturn. The company currently has $100 million in debt; do you think that the Tastykakes can be saved?
